The team was managed by a long-serving coach Thomas Schaaf, and its colours were represented by, amongst others, Claudio Pizarro, Marko Marin, Torsten Frings, Per Mertesacker, Aaron Hunt and Tim Wiese.

The T-shirt has been produced in a distinctive design based on two shades of green. The upper part is a darker shade, whilst the lower part is a lighter shade, and the two sections are separated by a striking white zigzag pattern forming a downward-pointing V. The sponsor’s logo is printed on the front. TARGOBANKand the whole is completed by the coat of arms Werder Bremen and logo Nike, creating one of the club’s most distinctive designs from the early 2010s.
