Original home football shirt of the Scotland national team from 2006/08, manufactured by Diadora.
The model prepared by Diadora for years from 2007 To 2008 year for representing Scotland, in size L, refers to the classic, elegant aesthetics of the „Tartan Army”. This was a period of one of Scotland's most memorable attempts to qualify for a major tournament in the 21st century, which ended in great sporting disappointment.
The T-shirt was manufactured in traditional navy blue colour, supplemented by gold trim on the collar and sleeves, which gives the whole a noble, representative character. The following were used: long sleeve, typical of British suits from those years. On the sleeve there is Euro 2008 patch, even though these shirts were also used during elimination, and not just at the final tournament.
The front and back feature number 6, without a surname – in accordance with the practice used by representation of Scotland at that time. He regularly performed with this number. Barry Ferguson, one of the team's leaders and long-time captain. The central midfielder was known for his tough play, great tactical responsibility and leadership role in the team, and years 2006-2008 were among his most intense periods of representation.
The material of the T-shirt is lightweight, sturdy and breathable, and the cut in size L remains consistent with design standards Diadory from the end of the first decade of the 21st century. Based on available information it cannot be unequivocally confirmed, whether it is a copy used directly in a match, but all the features correspond to the official shirts used by the team at that time, and specifically to this shirt, in the long-sleeved version, Barry Ferguson played in the match against France, 7 October 2006.
Qualifying rounds for Euro 2008 were for Scotland exceptionally dramatic — the team was in contention for promotion for a long time, recording prestigious victories over, among others, France, but ultimately they lacked points in the decisive matches. Alongside Ferguson, the core of the team at that time consisted of Darren Fletcher, James McFadden, Alan Hutton i Craig Gordon, and the style of play was based on intensity, physicality and the support of the fans at Hampden Park.
This is an offer for collectors and fans looking for original home football shirt of the Scottish national team from the 2007/08 season with the number 6 – symbol of ambitious Euro 2008 qualifiers and leadership role Barry Ferguson in one of the most memorable periods in the team's modern history.
